Converse  –  Malden, USA. Est. 1908

Brand Story

The Converse All Star ‘Chuck Taylor’ sneaker is not just a classic but an icon – an enduring piece of Americana.

First released in 1917 as a basketball shoe, the design is now well over a century old, yet it has remained popular throughout each and every decade and into a new millennium. Not many people wear Chucks for basketball these days, but that just shows what an unbeatable shape they are: the ultimate casual shoe.

From the kids in Stand by Me, to Ice Cube in his N.W.A. days, to Kurt Cobain on stage, anyone can pull off a pair of Chucks.

Nowadays, the Chuck Taylor 70 – Converse’s premium version – is considered a must-have for anyone’s shoe rack, just as essential as the plain white T-shirt.

That’s certainly how we see it here at Urban Industry. We stock the Chuck 70 in a wide variety of colourways and materials, in both the high and the low profiles, in sizes ranging from UK 6 to UK 12.

We’re always replenishing our stock of the staple colourways, but we also bring in plenty of the limited, one-off variations each season.

Just after the classic canvas high-tops in off-white or black? No problem. Or are you looking for a more vibrant pair, maybe suede with an animal-print theme? We’ve got those kinds too. They all have the same substantial build-quality and detailing that the world has come to expect from the Chuck 70 line.

We do sell other must-have Converse silhouettes: the One Star, the Jack Purcell and the Final Club Pro (again, both high and low) – so be sure to browse the full range. You might just stumble upon your new favourite pair.
