As more and more fits and styles are introduced in to the market, with new names and numbers flying around, it can get a little confusing in distinguishing what it all means when trying to find your perfect pair of jeans. To offer a bit of a helping hand in your quest, we have put together this fit guide, covering 4 key styles from the most renowned brand on the market – Levi’s. We take a closer look at the Levi’s 501, 511, 520 and Line 8 Super Skinny to see how each pair fits when worn…..
he 501 Customised & Tapered offers a contemporary update of Levi’s most iconic style – the 501. Inspired by those who wear and rework the jeans themselves, the classic shape has been adjusted to fit the requirements of the modern consumer. Constructed from 100% cotton denim, the 501 C&T Jeans offer a little bit more room around the waist, sitting low on the hips. There’s plenty of give around the thigh area, which is tapered down through the calf area and down to the leg opening.
While maintaining the heritage look and feel of the original 501, the 501 C&T’s shape is much more suited towards modern trends. Additional features include a button fly opening and Levi’s leather patch on the rear waistline.
Levi’s Skate Baggy 5 Pocket
The baggy style is wide fitting but cut with a straight hem that doesn't flare out at the bottom. Finished with a five pocket design and the signature red label on the rear pocket.
Levi’s 511 Slim Fit Jeans
The Levi’s 511 silhouette have become one of the most popular shapes on the market in recent times. Arriving in a slim tapered fit, the jeans have a low rise and can be worn many different ways, from shorter in the leg or longer stacked against footwear. Most Levi’s 511 styles have been constructed from an elastane/cotton mix to increase mobility and still offer durability through wear. Additional features include a zip fly opening and small Levi’s patch detailing on the waistline.
Levi’s Skate 551 Z Straight Fit Jeans
The Levi’s Skate 551 Z Straight Fit Jeans pay homage to those classic relaxed styles but this time utilise more sustainable materials.
The standard signature button fly, Levis red pocket label on the rear pocket, a patch bearing the iconic Two Horse Pull logo sits on the waistline, representing the strength of Levis clothing and the Classic five-pocket styling all give an authentic look. They offer a relaxed, comfortable fit with enough room for easy movement. Like all Levi's they sit great on a range of shoes but we think they'd go great with some New Balance 920's or 2002's.
