The Vans Authentic Brand Story

The Vans Authentic started the whole thing way back in 1969 for the Van Doren Rubber company, they got off the mark with this now iconic and much copied shoe.  With its diverse customer base on the beaches of California, surfers and early skateboarders alike took to the simplicity of the Vans Authentic shoes. Simple canvas uppers, Vulcanised wrap unit and the now famous Vans Waffle sole.

Since these early days Vans has of course moved the Authentic on to many different fabrications in canvas, leather and premium suedes, even Ostrich leather on one occasion. After all these styles there is something to be said for keeping it simple with the True White, Black or Navy Vans Authentic which are tried and tested.
