The Kleman Brand Story

Kleman's shoemaking history started in 1945 with René Cléon opening a workshop in La Romagne. With a family-run business, they soon expanded and opened a manufacturing facility in Anjou, France, where they make genuine unisex footwear like the well-known Padror tyrolean and other traditional boot and derby models from the 1980s. Kleman continues to be sought-after worldwide for combining classic workwear styling and functional, high quality shoes.

Nearly 45 seasoned artisans in La Romagne, Maine-et-Loire, bring the designs from their style team to life. Kleman's renowned technical expertise through local job preservation and know-how valued and preserved to perpetuate craftmanship to a high standard is a reflection of their family's legacy in preserving rich French footwear expertise.

Using carefully selected raw materials sourced from European bovine leathers to laces woven within 10km of the workshop, along with ecological-impact reduction thanks to the proximity to their partners shows Kleman's commitment to designing authentic and sustainable French shoes.

Whether you prefer the classic leather Padror derby or the luxurious velvet leather Padror VV, these signature models are the perfect addition to your workwear style.
