The few weeks after Christmas are the ones that we traditionally dread here at Urban Industry HQ. Sure, you’ve got your typical post-holiday blues, but we also have to face into our bi-annual picking and packing marathon that accompanies our Winter Sale. Sure, it’s a good complaint to have; but goddamn if it doesn’t hurt to spend all day on your feet assembling your sale orders. This winter sale has been a particularly heavy hitter, and we thank you all for your placing your orders with us. Today I’m going to pick out a few key pieces that take my fancy from the current sale offering. Stefan (or Stephanie, or Gwen Stefani) from our warehouse crew has graciously offered to model…
First up I’m going with a heavy hitting winter parka – the Obey Holbrook Jacket in Burnt Orange (Was £160 – Now £104). Only a chump would think the cold weather ends when you pack away your Christmas tree. With the colder months ahead, this insulated nylon mountain parka with removable sherpa lined hood should keep you toasty warm. Underneath, I’m keen to keep things a bit more muted than the Obey jacket so I’m opting for the Volcom Automatic Shirt in Midnight Blue (Was £58.00 – Now £37.70). This smart piece of cut & sew from Volcom features subtle Stone embroidery on the chest and really is quite an adaptable style.
I’m giving denim a break in favour of the Altamont Davis Slim Chino Pants in Fatigue (Was £59.99 – Now £30.00). The Altamont Davis Chinos are a great fitting pair of pants and at 50% off these are a complete bargain. Seriously, go and find me a better pair of pants for £30. I dare you. If this colourway doesn’t tickle your fancy, then we have a number of other colours on sale of the Altamont Davis Chinos. For my footwear choice I’m keeping things relatively simple with the Vans Authentic Shoes in (Hiker Canvas) Gargoyle (Was £49.99 – Now £34.99). These shoes are constructed of a tougher canvas than your standard Authentics and I think the hiking laces are a real nice touch.
To finish I’m going with the Topo Designs Klettersack in Duck Camo (Was £129.99 – Now £77.99). Man, I could write a whole blog on my love for Topo Bags. In fact, I probably already have. I’ve owned the Mini Mountain Bag in the same duck camo for some time and I love it to bits. Both feature a virtually bulletproof 1000D Cordura construction and are handmade in Colorado, USA. Natural leather lash tabs, heavy duty plastic hardware, heavy duty straps reinforced with seatbelt webbing all add to the charm of what is arguably the best built bag for sale on Urban Industry!
