It was only today when I was adding the latest WEMOTO collection to the site that I actually stopped and noticed – here is a brand that without any hype or noticeable coverage has consistently and solidly sold well for us since we debuted with them a few seasons back. Part of this success can be certainly attributed to the undeniable quality and keen price-points of WEMOTO garments. I think what works for me though is the overall look and feel of their clothes that comes together as one cohesive collection. If you look at the brand page now it just flows naturally – solid outerwear, enough fleece and knitwear to keep you warm for the season ahead, a selection of both basic and printed tees and a limited collection of caps to round it all off. What we have is just a really solid collection that is basic without being boring, and has enough personality running through it without being purposefully zany.
The German brand are a welcome reminder that in an industry full of chancers and hypebeasts, a solid well-made collection of clothing can still punch its weight with other brands. My personal picks from this Fall drop are the Gant jacket (available in 3 colourways at £135 each) and the Doom T-Shirt (available in 2 colourways at £32 each). The Gant jacket features an incredibly comfortable ‘teddy’ lining that will keep you warm. The Doom tee keeps the WEMOTO tradition of hip-hop referencing hand drawn graphics alive with a MF Doom-inspired print.
