Urban Industry and Gramicci have collaborated to create a limited run of T-shirts showcasing the South Downs lifestyle, capturing the adventurous spirit that the south coastal region has to offer.
Over the last 20 years we've stayed true to our independent roots. Listening to our customers, stocking some of the very best, globally recognised brands and making sure our staff are looked after. We'd like to think that we've done all this from our base in the seaside town of Eastbourne not usually associated with serving up the latest streetwear, premium outdoor gear and limited sneakers. As part of our 20th Anniversary we think its time to celebrate the journey so far.
First opening our doors in 2002 feels like just yesterday, time really does fly when you’re having fun! The t-shirt design depicts our journey through the local countryside from seaside to rolling, national park downland.
Founded in 1982, built for life outdoors, Gramicci is one of our favourites, boasting versatility across streetwear, workwear and outdoorwear. Working seamlessly across multiple style avenues and nailing it each time, it only makes sense for Urban Industry to collaborate with such an adaptable brand.
From it's arrival in 2018, we've been continually inspired by staple pieces including the Original G-Pants and G-shorts, Shell jet Caps and the wide range of graphic T-shirts. For the collaboration, the idea was simple - to create a unique tee that kept true to who we are, the pocket tee was the perfect silhouette.
We wanted to exemplify and illustrate everything that makes the south coast so loved and appreciated - hiking on the Downs, trekking through forest and exploring rock pools. We enlisted the help of graphic designer Fried Cactus, who’s style is a perfect match for what Gramicci and ourselves wanted to achieve, with intent and charm at the forefront of their illustrative work.
