Starting 2016 with a bang, Saucony Originals looks back to one of its most revered collaborations – The Shadow 5000 Elite pack, which it is set to re-release this month.
First released over 5 years ago, the ‘Elite’ pack was originally put together as a special capsule collection for some of the brands most elite retailers in Japan, a project lead by Jay Gordon of Boston’s Bodega, also a regular visitor to Japan. The original collaboration went on to become the framework for Saucony’s future collaborative ventures and through similar projects with big name retailers worldwide, Saucony would grow to become one of the most celebrated and desired collaborators of the last decade.
The Shadow 5000 ‘Elite’ arrives with plush suede and premium leather overlays on the upper, available in a rich blue and red colour options. Both pairs feature tonal lacing and branding, and sit on top of a cream midsole unit and gum outsole. Additional detailing in the revived ‘winged shoe’ logo on the tongue label gives a nod to the brands rich heritage and adds to the retro feel of the pack.
The Saucony Originals Shadow 5000 Elite will be available with us this Saturday, the 9th January. Keep your eyes on our social pages for regular updates on releases. You can shop our current Saucony Originals range HERE.
