Every now and again a collab comes along that makes so much sense that it makes you wonder why it hadn’t already been done before. Such is the forthcoming Rebel8 x Rancid collaboration. What better pairing than Mike Giant’s SF brand and arguably the biggest punk band of the last 20 years? The Rebel8 aesthetic seems perfectly paired with Tim Armstrong & co.’s musical output. Ok, so there are no tartan pants, but the collection will be made up of a selection of t-shirts, vest and caps.
Doug from Rebel8 explains the meaning of the collab it in more detail – “This collaboration is special to me in a lot of ways. Rancid was one of the first bands that I ever really got into as a kid. I still remember when I got my first guitar, sitting in my bedroom trying to learn how to play “Salvation”. Growing up in a small town in Northern California, Rancid painted such an amazing picture of the SF/Bay Area in all of their lyrics. I always knew that I wanted to end up living here when I got older. It’s kind of crazy to look back on that now, living in the same neighborhood a lot of their songs were written about. I’ve actually gotten to know these guys a bit which is even crazier!”.
We don’t have an exact date for when the stock will be with us, but we know it’ll be soon. Your best bet is to keep an eye on our Facebook page, where we’ll post up as soon as it drops. In the meantime, why not reacquaint yourself with the music of Rancid, and peruse the whole selection of Rebel8 on our site.
