As more Autumn/Winter collections begin to arrive with us here at Urban Industry, we take a closer look at some of the key pieces from streetwear imprint Obey this season.
The brainchild of iconic street artist Shepard Fairey, Obey was founded as an expansion of Fairey’s art and is deeply rooted in the same values – the DIY counterculture of punk and skateboarding, as well as popular culture, commercial marketing and political messaging. The brand is renowned for their bold ‘OBEY’ graphic print tee designs, but the past few seasons have shown Obey’s versatility in design and also their capability of putting out considered, more mature designs that appeal to a wider audience, ranging from outerwear to trousers.
For Autumn/Winter 2015 we find a strong selection of graphic t-shirts and hoodies, alongside a varied headwear range that covers everything from bucket hats to 5-panels. Obey have really vamped up their cut and sew line with fitted knits, smart and casual plaid shirts and light jacketing options perfect for layering up, all of which arrive in an Autumnal colour palette.
