One of Nike’s most iconic silhouettes – the Air Max 90, will be celebrating 25 years at the top of the running shoe pile, with its sleek style still considered one of the most important releases to date and renowned for it’s famous midsole which holds the air bubble unit.
As part of the 25th year celebrations we see the unique silhouette get a truly unique rework as Nike apply cork to the shoes upper and tongue. The shoe’s look is completed with accents and the sole unit taken from the popular ‘Infrared’ design, with black and crimson detailing on the swoosh, heel tab and air bubble. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen the brand pop the cork for celebratory reasons on their footwear designs with the LeBron X EXT “Cork” released back in 2013 to commemorate his first championship win. It seems as though the material is only brought out on special occasions and it lends itself perfectly to the design of the classic runner.
The Nike Air Max 90 “Cork” 25th Anniversary shoe will be available with us from the first week of April, so keep your eyes on our social media pages for updates. For now you can shop our full Nike footwear range HERE.
