With over 100 years of experience within the footwear industry, it’s fair to say that Brooks know a thing or two about high performance running footwear. In March of 2014, the brand launched the Heritage Collection, which pays homage to the brands past, remaining focused on the running style, while updating the shoes to give a more refined and fashion forward aesthetic for the lifestyle market. The brands mission is to inspire everyone to run and be active, and the Heritage Collection offers the brands followers and others a chance to share the love of the sport both on and off the run.

The Heritage Collection pays homage to the running boom of the 70’s, aiming to recreate the magic of the era through their inspirational and historical designs. The 70’s were not only a huge turning point for running but also saw Brooks introduce several technologically advanced features to their shoes, providing the wearer with as much functionality, comfort and support as possible. In 1975 the brand introduced EVA onto the midsole, while 1977 saw the introduction of pronation support with the Varus wedge and in 1982, roll bar technology was born for increased motion control. Brooks were very much at the top of the running game and it’s forward thinking designs have gone on to inspire many since.

This Spring, Urban Industry will be amongst a select amount top retailers within the UK to receive some of the latest styles from the Brooks Heritage collection.

First through our door will be the iconic Chariot silhouette, which first debuted back in 1982. It was one of the most popular running styles throughout the 80’s thanks to its high-tech features, which included the Diagonal Rollbar, a breakthrough in motion control technology, as well as the tri-layer insole for extreme comfort and a rubber outsole which absorbed the shock of the ground upon impact. All these features remain with the shoe for its latest rendition, fusing the past with the present, refreshing the style through modern fabrications and colour treatments to bring them into 2015.

We can also expect an exciting collaboration style on the Fusion silhouette to be arriving with us shortly. The Fusion was introduced back in 1992, the first release from the brand in that decade, and once again featured cutting-edge innovation and a sporty, form fitting style. The Fusion was designed with the future in mind, from its visible heel cushioning technology to its slick multi-colour designs, the sleek shape is sure to be a big hit with OG sneaker heads across the globe.
