Creature of Habit: The English Restaurant, 50-52 Brushfield Street, London

September 18, 2014

One of the great things about this job is amount of visits you get to make to the capital city and coming from a sleepy seaside town like Eastbourne it makes a nice change. It also means that you get to sample some great coffee and food while you’re there which sometimes can he hard to get in your local town.  Having been doing the buying at Urban Industry for almost 13 years I definitely have my favourite places to get a decent cup depending on which brand I’m seeing and in which part of London their offices are built.  I thought I’d share some of my favourites and new ones that I find along the way.

If I’m visiting Obey Clothing, The Quiet Life, or Poler who all have showrooms in and around the Spitalfields Market area I always try to drop into the English Restaurant. The place comes straight out of the early 20th Century with its wood panelling and vintage signage. They do great coffee and I’ve tried the breaksfast on a number of occasions and they’re fantastic, well cooked, sausage, bacon, eggs and plenty of it.

Looking at the Menu I need to hang around after a late appointment and check out the rest of whats on offer.
