Great new refresh on the cool Zapato Del Barco boat shoe for spring 2010. Vans pull this preppy shape off while still harking back to their skate roots. Canvas upper with Shoe lace inserts running round the heel. Flat sole unit with no classic vans waffle, yet still very grippy.

This is a new cotton canvas upper version of the Zapato Del Barco Boat shoe.
Cool new version with a Harrigan Plaid all over design.
Flat rubber sole.

Vans Shoes

Today Vans has over 60 styles of shoes in its range, including the classic Vans Era, Vans Authentic and Vans Slip On to high performance skateboard shoes As well as an ever growing range of Vans T-Shirts and clothing. Vans Shoes was founded by Paul Van Doren back in 1966 with the simple idea of selling his Vans Shoes directly to the public instead of going through an agent or middle man. The first Vans Shoes stores opened in Anaheim, South California on March 15th, 1966. At this time there were only 3 styles of Vans Trainers to choose from. Vans Shoes was such a small and tight little operation that the 12 people that came into the store that morning picked their Vans Trainers, colours and styles but Paul and Co. didn't actually have them in stock to sell. Paul asked the customers to return in the afternoon to pick up their Vans shoes, they then rushed back to the factory where they made the shoes to order. The first Vans shoes incorporated the now famous diamond sole pattern, vertical lines were added to make the unit strong and it became known as the Vans Shoes Waffle sole. In 1976 the newly emerging cult of skateboarders chose Vans Shoes to wear while doing their pastime and these skaters asked to have different colours combined on the one shoe. Vans shoes delivered with the first Vans Era in the authentic red and blue designed by cult skate boarders Tony Alva and Stacy Peralta. The skateboarding craze spread like wild fire and with it so did the popularity of Vans Shoes.
