Eastpak X Wood Wood Wenden Large Tote Bag - Tan

EASTPAK, the authentic urban lifestyle brand, has achieved something pretty special in collaboration with the Danish designer label, Wood Wood. The first EASTPAK by WOOD WOOD Collection will hit stores as of August 2012 under the title “Desertion”. As the name suggests, the collab encapsulates the spirit of the desert landscape with its mix of natural materials, soft colours and ethnic motifs. Building also on EASTPAK’s North American heritage, the collection succeeds in bringing the desert to the city, fusing the nomadic spirit of both the wayward explorer and urban insider.

For this first collaboration between the two brands, Wood Wood has added a uniquely warm and relaxed atmosphere to a range of nevertheless highly functional bags and accessories designed for today’s urban explorer. The use of natural materials with a weathered and wrinkled look such as tanned leather, nappy suede and waxed canvas evoke the rough and robust environment of the desert. Each style also features a different geometric motif evocative of North American folk art.

This exotic mood is carried through, right down to the details such as suede string zip pullers; leather or worn-canvas straps; metal buckles, rings and snap hooks; and other authentic hardware elements. The bags’ soft, muted colours complete the picture of a collection built to inspire the urban nomad in all of us.

Wenden is a large tote bag made in a combination of heavy waxed cotton and a nappy suede bottom. The bag is reinforced with the worn canvas straps that furthermore are equipped with soft tanned leather handles. The bag has a two-sided zip closure with Velcro fastening and features a zipped outer compartment with suede string zip pullers.
