A couple of years ago Vans took the classic Era shoes and sliced a chunk off the rubber sole unit to make a super low profile shoe. The LPE (Low Pro Era) retains the padded heel, sow lines and toe box of the Era shoe but strips them back so they are less pronounced. The LPE still carries the classic Vans Waffle sole but just gives a lighter, low cut shoe that fits well at the bottom of skinny jeans.
