Staff Picks No.2 - SeanH July 12
Thursday 26/07/12 - 04.50PM
Sean H stands in for Dan this week and takes you though his best bits of the recent deliveries.
Due to Dan being a very busy man darting to and from London for the past week or so, I’m picking up the slack whilst he’s away and giving you a second dose of my Staff Picks for this month. I’ve gone fairly simple this time and picked out a few of my essentials as we continue to enjoy this glorious weather, summer is finally here! I’m actually heading off on a little summer trip next week and I’m pretty sure this is the exact look that I will be wearing for at least one day of that time away. We’ve had such a strong range of products come in over the past couple of weeks, but this look was an easy one for me to spot.
If you read my Sale Picks from last week you’ll know that I just don’t do headwear, never really have. I’m going straight to the top. First we have this great new Brixton Driven t-shirt in Navy. I’m always a little against wearing black in summer, too damn hot! But you can normally get away with a good navy if you’re into darker colour t-shirts. The t-shirt (actually a pocket t-shirt) has a small chest print and large back print which can be seen here in the photo. It’s available now for just £29.99, not a bad price as pocket t-shirts go.
Denim wise, I’m going for the Levi’s 510 in New 3D wash. I’ve been waiting for these jeans to come back into stock for a while. I just love the fit of my current 510’s but feel a bit of colour variation is in order! These are a super skinny jean, I would say quite a bit slimmer than the Levi's 511 if that gives you some scale. These jeans are also made using Levi’s WaterLess technique. WaterLess jeans have allowed Levis to cut 16 million liters of water out of the finishing process this Summer alone. Check these jeans out if you’re into your skinny jeans, you'll will be made up with a pair of these. Priced at £79.99.
Next up we have the New Balance 1500 GSW – Forest Green/White. These shoes are pretty damn near to perfection in my eyes and the crazy thing is I’m still a New Balance virgin! but not for long! Great fit, great quality, great colour, great silhouette, I’m really liking these shoes. These particular New Balance are made in the UK via their Flimby factory hence the £100.00 price tag, worth every penny though!
I’ve thrown in a couple of small accessories to round off the selection this week. Being the photographer here at Urban Industry, it makes sense to have a camera with me on my trip. I will be taking along the Lomo Holga in Green which is currently on sale down from £69.00 to £52.00. Although this camera takes medium format film (120mm), I will be picking up a 3 pack of Lomography CN100 ASA 35mm film for my array of various other film cameras. Pick the 3 pack up for £10.00.
