Vans California Fall Footwear Selection
Thursday 23/09/10 - 04.59PM
We've had a tasty selection of beautifully designed Vans California footwear arrive for the Fall season ahead.
This Fall season, Vans have stepped up operations in the footwear department several gears, as can be clearly seen from the delights the new California fall range has to offer. The Vans California collection takes the spot previously held by Vans Vault in the tiering system, as Vault transforms to become the super exclusive premium collection. Vans California presents the same use of premium materials and quality, interesting silhouettes but without the mountainous price tag, a serious bargain on all accounts.
The first model to arrive is the new Vans California Era Wingtip: the staple Vans Era shoe with the edition of the detailing traditionally found on a wingtip shoe across the upper panels and toebox. Following a trend in smarter sneakers of late, the Era Wingtip presents the ultimate combination of skate and dress shoes in what we believe is an excellent piece of footwear that will definitely be a conversation starter. The Era Wingtip is available in 'Midnight' Navy and Walnut premium suede uppers with deep red accents, a marshmallow coloured midsole and round, waxed leather laces.
The Vans California Switchback sticks on the popular trend of mountaineering inspired footwear, although you probably wouldn't want to put these to use on your nearest hillside and risk damaging the premium leather and suede uppers. The Switchback is strong and well supported hightop shoe with a clean, minimalistic construction, great for keeping your feet warm and dry this winter. Colourway choices of Black leather and Brown suede, rope laces, and hiking boot lace loops only add to the walking shoe trend, but it's the vulc sole that sets this apart from the rest as the perfect fusion of hiking boot and midtop skate shoe.
The deal is sealed with this black leather Vans California Chukka Del Barco. The shoe comes with boat shoe style toebox and lace system around the heel, but with an extra padded area around the ankle making this a mid top shoe and therefore considerably different than most other boat shoes out there. What is traditionally a summer shoe is transformed for the Autumn with a tough black leather exterior and again, the support of the Vans vulc sole. We like what Vans have achieved with the Chukka Del Barco and hopefully it's a shoe we'll see more of in seasons to come. All five styles of Vans California footwear are available to buy now, but don't hesitate as there's little chance of these being around for long.
Ransom by Adidas Originals Autumn/Winter 2010
Thursday 23/09/10 - 04.58PM
The Random by Adidas Originals collection returns to Urban Industry in a number of styles for Autumn/Winter 2010.
Adidas Originals return with the third installment of the Ransom by Adidas Originals collection, working in collaboration with Canadian retailer and menswear brand Ransom Holding Company. Following on from acclaimed first collection in 2009, and the hugely popular Spring/Summer collection earlier this year, Adidas and Ransom return for Autumn/Winter 2010 with their best collection so far.
Again, Ransom have worked on the completely new footwear models crafted in the first collection, rather than previously existing Adidas silhouettes, resulting in some special footwear with an entirely different vibe. The Curb, The Valley and The Creek return, alongside the new Bluff Mid, in a new selection of colours and materials that sit well within the smarter footwear trends we've been experiencing this year and will provide great warmth and protection from the elements in the winter months ahead. Again the footwear is inspired by the great Canadian outdoors, rather than the basketball or running shoes which we're used to from Adidas, making them the perfect companion for the British Winter.
The Curb is a Southern Californian inspired classic casual shoe, and one of the only low top models in the collection. It comes in a heavy duty oiled, Iron grey leather with metal lace eyelets. This sleek and subtle beauty will keep you looking fly on a rainy day without the slightest worry of damaging your new kicks.
The Valley presents just as sleek a shoe, but this time, a high top version. We have the heavyweight canvas Deep Green version at Urban Industry, which comes with the benefit of luxurious lambskin lining. The heavyweight canvas is perfect for withstanding tough conditions, and metal eyelets and rope laces only add to the mountaineering boot look.
We have too models of The Creek in store, the Dark Sand and Black mixed suede and nubuck models. The Creek is a beautiful piece of footwear, and the use of premium suede on the upper allows it to really stand out from the pack. The mid top shoe comes with a rugged outsole for extra grip and a moccasin cut toe box, fitting with the trend towards smarter casual footwear among sneakerheads of late. Both models come with an ultra comfortable interior thanks to micro suede linings and sheepskin insoles.
Finally, The Bluff Mid is another mid top shoe and a new addition to the Ransom by Adidas series, after originally appearing as a low top model. Summer turns to Autumn and the previous low top is transformed into this premium Espresso brown oiled leather boot, complete with brass eyelets. The Bluff Mid completes the pack and gives you a final choice making that decision of which to choose even harder.
Check out all of the Ransom by Adidas Originals models now and keep a close eye on the collaboration as it's likely to only get better with time.

| We've had our first delivery of new brand (to us) AMOS this week. Amos has been around since 2002 and come direct from the pen of UK Graphic Illustrator/Cartoonist James Jarvis. James had previously designed toys for fashion brand Silas, beginning with the now legendary Martin figure, released back in 1998 |

We just like the great use of the Martin figure and a nice piece of King Ken which of course have been very popular in plastic toy form over the years. This is our first drop of Amos T-Shirts and expect some more coming soon. |
New Balance Pub Pack Official Launch
Friday 17/09/10 - 03.42PM
This week the New Balance Pub Pack finally saw it's official launch in the surroundings of the Red Lion pub.
After what has seemed like months of delay, the New Balance Pub Pack finally saw it's official launch this past Thursday, at the appropriate location of the Red Lion pub in London's East End. The pack itself features three styles of the New Balance 576, each themed around a different tradional British boozer: The Red Lion, The Kings Head and The Royal Oak. Each shoe is constructed from 'pub sofa stye' leathers in red, blue and brown, and features decorative interiors themed around the sorts of fabric patterns you're likely to find on the curtains and carpets of your nearest public house. They are completed with pint glass 'ring marks' on the insole and an embroidered Union Jack on the heel, just in case you weren't too sure what the pack represents. Our friends at The Daily Street were there to cover the event, stuff themselves with all manner of pork goods (pies AND scratchings) and soak up all the free booze. Fortunately for us they remained sober enough to take a few snaps so we could get a piece of the action, which you can check out below.
The entire New Balance Pub Pack is available now in very limited numbers, along with plenty other New Balance styles if these aren't quite for you. Each pair comes packages with it's own New Balance beer mat and bar towel, making this one serious collectors item. The Red Lion, The Kings Head and The Royal Oak are sure to become much sought after collectors items in the years to come, so make sure you snag yours while you can.

Comune Fall Collection Available at Urban Industry
Friday 03/09/10 - 12.44PM
We've received a healthy selection of the new Fall line from US brand Comune, and it's better than ever.
|
|
Comune began as an outlet for providing clothing that reflects the lifestyle of 'carefree idealism', created for those who push the boundries of creative industries like skateboarding, art and music, with complete disregard for the consequences. They have since become known for their stand out T-shirt graphics and premium quality outerwear and accessories, delivering style with a serious street edge. A focus on the quality and fit of their T-shirts means that with Comune, you get a more fitted T-shirt, with all the look of a high fashion item, whilst still being skate and street ready. |

The Fall collection is comprised of a number of T-shirts, following a vintage theme this season using 100% cotton, soft T-shirts that play with the traditional methods of T-shirt printing and provide a few new alternatives that will only get better with age. The Apuerto T-shirt is a white tee, sprayed all over with black ink, giving it a unique distressed look that will change over time as the tee is worn and washed. The Damian T-shirt features the same technique over part of the shirt but with the edition of a massive diamond on the front. |

The collection features a number of other T-shirts playing with typography and photography. Most are quite simple in design, which only adds to the vintage feel. Worth checking out the Comune Type Pocket T-shirt, with Comune Type logo printed on the chest and the 'N' printed separately over the top on the pocket, the classic N Type T-shirt and the new Drop City Artist collaboration with artist Wyatt Hull, which features a design inspired by a Russian prison tattoo of a cat, in a hat, with a bowtie. |

The Comune Fall collection also boasts a nice selection of outerwear, shirting and knitwear, with a focus on the smarter side of things. The Felipe is a tonal black, hexagonal quilted jacket, which presents a nice alternative to the overplayed Barbour style. Lightweight, but lined with brushed flannel for added warmth in the winter months. The short cut, double breasted Fischer Jacket is also sure to be a hit. Made from 100% cotton canvas, the Fischer comes in Dark Charcoal and Stone grey with little details like the buttoned back double yoke making a big design difference. |

Worth checking out the Jared Crew in it's two-tone deep green/grey colourway, complete with front pocket. This raglan cut sweatshirt has a really nice, easy fit, dropping well across the shoulders and ending in a curved hem for a shirt-like fit. Also try the Howard and Edmond Long-sleeved shirts for a nice alternative to the usuals doing the rounds. Cut slim for a tailored-like fit sure to keep you looking fresh this fall. All of these Comune items and more are available now from Urban Industry and a perfect fit for your wardrobe in the season ahead. |

Obey Clothing AW10 T-shirt Drop
Thursday 02/09/10 - 11.57AM
We've had a huge load of T-shirts arrive from the Obey AW10 range, plenty of great graphic tees to chose from.
Obey Clothing has grown to become one of the biggest streetwear brands on the planet, and they show no signs of slowing down, as is heavily evident in the first drop of the Obey AW10 collection. Just last week we had 22 different T-shirts arrive from Obey, which sits on top of the already huge 10th Anniversary collection released just a short while ago. The collection features, as always the work of world famous street artist Shephard Fairey, and contains number of Obey artworks, alongside the classic Obey Bar Logo and the infamous Obey Icon, featuring the face of Andre the Giant, part responsible for Fairey's rise to fame.
The birth of Obey came from Fairey's 'Andre the Giant has a Posse' stickers, which were spread across America through the skateboarding community in the late 90s. The stickers lead to Fairey's work becoming known throughout the United States' street art scenes and over time, Shephard developed his Andre the Giant logo into the Obey Icon face we know today, and with it, the Obey Giant brand, pasting up posters across the world to spread the Obey word. The Obey Clothing line was a natural progression from his art and has now developed into a full clothing and accessories collection featuring art inspired by his original pieces. Shephard himself has since gone into the big leads, founding his own design and marketing agencies and working with a number of the world's biggest brands, musicians and magazines.
In 2008, Shephard Fairey produced the iconic posters as part of Barack Obama's election candidacy, and although the initial posters featured no affiliation with Obama's election campaign itself, they were a huge part of his rise to global popularity. Interestingly enough the original posters featured the word 'progress' before Fairey was asked to produce a new set featuring the word 'hope' by Obama's campaign team. Following this change, the posters were openly embraced by the Obama campaign and eventually, the image made it's way to the prestigious cover of TIME Magazine. The portrait is now on display in the US National Portrait Gallery.
The Obey collection itself features a number of different styles of T-shirt. The Basic Obey T-shirt is made of heavyweight cotton and comes with a regular straight fit. This is one for the skaters and streetwear heads who might prefer their tees to fit a little looser. Check out the Defiant Youth and Global Warming T-shirts in this style, or if bikes are your passion, try the Fix Your Gears tee in Patrol Blue.
The Attack In Black tee comes printed on a Tri-blend tee, for a slim-fitting, vintage feel. The vintage nature is added to by the classic Black Panther print on the front in a faded yellow print. The Build Peace tee features has the same vintage feel in a 50/50 blend Mock Twist t-shirt and again, comes with a slightly slimmer fit, as does the Everyday T-shirt you'll find with the IPA Elephant and World of Obey designs and the Antique Lotus LP T-shirt.
The impressively named Tattoos All Over My Face T-shirt and the Labyrinth T-shirt both come on 100% cotton pigment dyed T-shirts, where the ink itself is dyed into the fabric (meaning you cannot feel the print), making for a strong print and comfortable feel. Also worthy of note is the new awareness T-shirt, which this time comes in support of the Surfrider Foundation, a charity working on coastal conservation. Obey support a charitable cause every season and the Jaws Wave T-shirt does the same for AW10, so check it out. All T-shirts shown here and a whole load more are available from Urban Industry now, what are you waiting for.
