Last week saw Newquay's annual Ripcurl Boardmasters Surf/Skate/Music festival kicking off and we went down there to take a peek! As with previous years it was a pretty awesome event, even if the weather was a let down for a few days! As always, our good friends at Vans and Eastpak took care of the skate, blade and bmx events bringing along with them their miniramp and the huge halfpipe that towered over the surf village. Vans BMX team riders such as Jon Taylor, Sebastian Keep, Chris Mahoney and Phil Aller all layed it down and went hugggee when it came to both the jam sessions and comps which were held down at the Fistral Beach throughout the week. Boardmasters sponsors Vans and Eastpak always have a large presence at this event and this year was no exception! Fridays weather turned for the better and allowed the Under 16's vert comp to take place featuring skaters Alex Halford, Jake Anderson, Reece Douglas and others. Also congrats go to brazilian Wiggoly Dantas for winning his first ASP World Qualifying Series title at Boardmasters this year, battling it out in choppy 4-6ft waves to take the win. All in all, definitely an event to check out. We hope to return again next year! Check out Vans & Eastpak at the Urban Industry Store....... |

We've Moved Server - Possible Site problems
Sunday 03/08/08 - 11.16AM
We've had a stressful week of server moving and service issues...read more.
Firstly apologies for our service over the last week or so, its been an incredibly stressful week as we moved our site to a new server and developer. Unforseen 'coding' issues has meant that it has taken a little longer than expected.Basically our site was becoming slower and slower as the amount of traffic has grown until we finally had to take action and get it moved, both to new servers and to a new web developer, but thats another story.
We are now on a spanking new Dedicated server at one of the UK's leading server houses based in London, we're on the same floor as Rightmove.co.uk and Ebookers! Along with the move we have addressed a number of coding issues that were making the site run slow and hopefully you can see the fruits of our labour now with the site being incredibly fast to load pages...this speed will increase as we make further changes to the original site coding.
IF YOU ARE STILL HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE SITE: If you are a regular customer of Urban Industry and last visited the site a few weeks or months ago you browser might be showing you a cached version which will appear to run slow and generally not work. You need to delete your cookies, empty your cache and restart your browser..this should flush out the old versions and show you the faster site.
If you still experience any problems please email info@urbanindustry.co.uk or call us on UK, 01323 412444 and we can take your order over the phone. Once again sorry if you have experienced a less than perfect service from us this week, unfortunately it seems that we have to go through a bit of pain to help put Urban Industry on a strong, secure setting for future growth.
